PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The Banking and Finance Training Program at Tan Tao University provides Bachelor of Science in Finance and Banking for students those who had good ethics, well thinking ability and full of necessary skills for researching, analyzing, planning, problem solving, decision making for the work of business, leadership, and effective management in the field of Finance and Banking.

Finance and Banking major is a specialized field including corporate finance, public finance, and banking. So, the school's training objective is to equip and enhance the general knowledge of Finance and Banking covering all of three aspects above through professional knowledge blocks (basic knowledge and key industry knowledge).

Each student may choose to in-depth study through a number of electives to acquire some specialized knowledge in corporate finance, public finance or banking. The difference, however, is not that great because the three specializations mentioned above are based on common ground, and between these specialties there is mutually complementary knowledge. On the other hand, this difference is too great for students to easily adapt to the multifaceted of working environment, or to take another field after graduation due to the demands of work.


 

GENERAL DEGREE REQUIREMENTS

1. General Knowledge about Society and Economy

- Have a basic knowledge of natural sciences as the fundamental knowledge for the acquisition of knowledge of the finance and banking industry;

- Have basic knowledge of social sciences as the fundamental knowledge acquisition of the banking and finance industry.

2. In-depth Expertise in Finance and Banking

- Having enough knowledge to systematize, synthesize and apply theories on financial market, financial investment, financial management;

- Have enough knowledge to systematize, synthesize and apply theories about fiscal policy, public policy, state budget management;

- Ability to systematize, synthesize and apply theories of monetary policy, central bank.

3. Professional Practice Skills

- Demonstrate practical skills, make good use of technology and tools to operate, plan and solve problems related to fiscal and monetary policies;

- Practical skills, good use of technology and tools to solve problems related to state budget management, public investment management, public expenditure management, managing capital, international banking, etc.

4. Creative Thinking Skills and Research Ability

- Have the skills to search, and collect data, as well as master the tools for research, calculation, problem identification, synthesis, evaluation, problem solving and decision making;

- Ability to synthesize and systematize highly logical and problem-solving, planning, organizing creatively professional work;

- Ability to work independently and critical thinking;

- Ability to plan and organize work effectively.

5. Communication Skills

- Have the skills to interpret the issues of listening, speaking, reading and writing in English; Have effective presentation skills in front of the crowd;

- Have negotiation skills.

2.6. Teamwork, Collaboration Skills

- Have the skills to listen with critical thinking, behavioral skills and relationships;

- Demonstrated spirit of cooperation, teamwork skills. Demonstrated spirit of willing to learn and ability to use new technology.


 

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

With the scientifically developed of highly output standards for the vision, mission and training objectives of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, graduates of the Finance and Banking major are fully qualified in ethics, knowledge, skills and health to undertake difficult works, and become a specialist in the finance and banking industry.

Finance and Banking graduates have the opportunity to work in all three specific majors: corporate finance (investment banking, securities companies, fund management companies, insurance companies, non-financial, state management agencies in the field of securities, insurance, investment, etc.); Public finance (state management agencies in the public sector, financial departments, state treasuries, tax offices, etc.) and banks (international financial institutions such as IMF, WB, ADB, Commercial vehicles, financial leasing companies, debt purchase companies, etc.) with a variety of professional positions from brokers, stock analysts, investment analysts, portfolio managers. Private equity, investment fund management, financial management in non-financial enterprises, credit management, capital management.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

1. Students with a high school diploma taking the college entrance examination and passing the financial and banking industry admission criteria as prescribed.

2. Attend and pass TTU interview section.


TRAINING PROCESS

1. The training process is divided into 8 semesters (can apply for shorter study time)

2. Teaching and learning in English.

3. Learning by credits.

4. Internship: 8th Semester


GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Students who meet the following criteria will be considered and recognized by the school:

1. Complete at least 4 full-time semesters at Tan Tao University;

2. Complete at least 1 major;

3. Complete 143 credits of compulsory courses and electives (including MoET courses);

4. Average cumulative GPA of at least 1.67;

5. Major Concentration and Compulsory Courses must be of at least 2.00;

6. Minimum English level of 600 TOEFL or equivalent;

7. Complete the National Defense Education Certificate and other courses as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training;

8. At the time of graduation, students are not examined for criminal prosecution or disciplined action from the suspension.
